Massimo Plaza Hotel in Palermo

Unravel Palermo from Massimo Plaza Hotel

Park your suitcase at Massimo Plaza Hotel, smack dab in front of the grand Teatro Massimo. Wi-Fi keeps you tethered to the world, whether you like it or not. A hop, skip, and a jump away, the Politeama Theater watches passersby, while the Cathedral plays hide-and-seek at a 10-minute stroll. In Palermo, the streets are a maze, with surprises around every corner. Once, I thought I found the Cathedral, but it turned out to be a very confused bakery.

Rooms come with air that’s been conditioned, flat screens broadcasting Sky, and a minibar stocked like a pirate’s treasure chest. Some rooms even let you peek at the theater from a balcony, if you're lucky. Morning hunger pangs? Breakfast magically appears in your room, with dietary preferences taken seriously, as if breakfast was a sacred ritual. The front desk folks, available 24/7 like a city's heartbeat, are there to answer questions—like why the marble staircase sports red ammonite fossils. A stay at Massimo Plaza is like being part of a peculiar yet delightful play, on your own or with your travel compadres.
