At Minthis Resort, a stone's throw from Minthis Hill Golf Club, guests find a place to rest their weary feet. When I visited, I found myself sharing a lounge chair with a very friendly local cat. The resort provides seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, and a gym that I only found because I got lost looking for my room. There's a 24-hour front desk, an ATM that gave me more cash than my wallet could handle, and complimentary WiFi for those who can't disconnect.

The wellness area is the spot for relaxation, with an indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub. I tried the sauna, thinking it was a small room for some alone time, but quickly realized it was a communal experience. Rooms offer modern conveniences, like air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a private balcony where you can contemplate life or just where you left your other flip-flop. Some rooms even boast a fully equipped kitchen, though the on-site restaurant calls with buffet, continental, or Full English/Irish breakfast options. The Mediterranean cuisine caters to vegetarians, dairy-free, and vegan folks who forgot they were on vacation.

Kids playground, tennis courts, and the surrounding areas for hiking and cycling provide activities aplenty. I tried cycling once, but after a tumble, decided the view was just as good on foot. The resort is a hop, skip, and a jump (or 12 miles) from Paphos International Airport, with a paid airport shuttle that’s more reliable than my GPS. Nearby attractions include Markideio Theater and 28 Octovriou Square, where I spent a good hour thinking I had traveled back in time.
